About me

DalilaBenfriha

I started this profession by trying to understand myself. Everything else came after.

I lived through a marriage that lasted too long. For years, I believed the problem was me. I let myself go. I erased myself a little more each year, until I lost myself. I no longer knew who I was. I normalised sacrifices and pains that were anything but normal. Today I know how widespread this is: I find the same mechanism in most of the women and men I see. At the time, I thought I was the only one.

It took me time to ask the only question that mattered: who am I, outside of this relationship?

I left. And I understood, much later, that those years had not been wasted. They became my raw material. That is where my way of listening comes from: when someone sits down in front of me and starts minimising what they are going through, I recognise the signs. I have lived in them.

Training, again and again

Since 2009, I have never stopped training. Hypnosis, NLP, eye movement therapy, tapping, couples therapy, functional sexotherapy, MBTI, Process Com, parenting workshops. Nine certifications, in France and abroad.

It is not collecting. Each training came to answer a block the previous one could not untangle. And each time, it was one specific person, sitting in my practice, who pushed me to go and learn again.

Sixteen years in practice

From 2010, I started seeing clients. Thousands of people since. Women, men, teenagers under pressure, children, couples who only spoke logistics.

What I love about brief therapy is that nobody settles in. People do not stay with me for years. They come, something unties, they go back to living. My job is to become useless as fast as possible: I know no more beautiful way to do this work.

What words could no longer repair

There is one thing I saw come back, again and again.

People who had understood everything about their story. Who told it perfectly, in detail, with the right words. And whose body kept sounding the alarm. For them, the narrative no longer repaired anything: it just looped.

I ended up admitting that understanding is not always enough. That we had to go somewhere else. I went looking for the techniques that go beyond words, the ones that speak directly to the body.

NeuroSens

NeuroSens was born from that search.

The breath opens. The sound carries. My voice guides. And at some point, the nervous system understands it can let go, without anyone having explained anything.

That is the moment I am looking for, every single time.

The soundtracks, I compose them with Arthur, my composer, and have for several years. I describe what I want to provoke in a body: when the breath should open, where my voice comes to rest, when silence must be left to do its work. He translates it into frequencies. We listen, we discard, we start again.

These are compositions designed for headphones, able to take someone much further than relaxation music. It is long work, made of trials and minute-by-minute adjustments. And it is what makes a NeuroSens immersion impossible to reproduce anywhere else.

Passing it on

If today I gather twelve people in my practice, or fifty in a hall in Paris, it is for a simple reason: what took me years to find, I have no desire to keep to myself.

Many of the people I see think they are made this way. That the anxiety, the fatigue, the repeating pattern would be their character. It is not their character. It is something that settled in β€” and what settled in can be unsettled. I have seen it thousands of times, and I keep seeing it every week.

It is the only message I want to pass on: things can move. Often faster than you think.
  • What I am not

A doctor, a psychologist, a psychotherapist. I say it clearly, because in this profession vagueness is a fault. I work alongside medical care, never instead of it, and I sometimes advise against a session and refer someone elsewhere.

  • What I am

Someone who has been through it. Who spent sixteen years training seriously. And who ended up trusting bodies more than explanations.

I see clients in Aulnay-sous-Bois. I run the immersions in Paris.

NeuroSens workshops are wellbeing activities and do not replace medical or psychotherapeutic treatment.
